Wave Refrigeration, a consultancy specialising in refrigeration systems, relied on an Excel workbook to perform complex engineering calculations. While functional, the spreadsheet was difficult to scale, share, and maintain.

The company wanted to explore a digital alternative: a proof-of-concept (PoC) web application that could replicate the workbook’s capabilities online. They also aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the principles of web application development to inform future planning. They wanted a partner who could guide the technical delivery while advising on design choices and long-term feasibility.

Our team collaborated closely with Wave Refrigeration to transform their Excel-based tool into a modern web application. We rebuilt the calculation engine from the ground up, translating spreadsheet logic into a structured, maintainable web framework.

We focused on delivering a clean and intuitive user interface while preserving the accuracy and integrity of the original calculations. Alongside the build, we provided strategic input, highlighting what works well in a web environment and what considerations to keep in mind for future development.
